Physical Description: An unusual succulant plant with shiny dark green leaves and thick arching, fleshy stems.

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia is an excellent choice for any indoor environment. It is a hardy plant that can thrive in areas where there are good bright light levels (not direct sunlight). It can also do well in low lit areas which makes it a very versatile choice when considering which tropical plant can go where. We have Zamiioculcas in at least two office foyers that are lit only by artificial light (< 100 lux) and they are doing fine, clearly in low light levels the danger of overwatering is ever present, watch closely for yellow leaves !!

In some cases the plant can lose its shape as it ages, the stems can start to droop down as the plant grows, if this happens a small cane and the careful use of plant wire can be used to shape the plant. Regular careful cleaning of the leaves with a cloth or feather duster to get rid of dust and dirt is recommended especially if the light levels are low.
